As the largest trade show in Southern Africa and ranked as one of the world’s largest mining shows, Electra Mining Africa is a premier networking event where over 850 local and international exhibitors will be showcasing their latest products and services across 38,000m² net space of indoor/outdoor exhibition area. Taking place from 12-16 September at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, the trade exhibition will provide the local mining, construction, power and energy, transport and related industries with a valuable platform for engagement, collaboration, interaction and networking.

“Many of our exhibitors will be launching new products at the show and there will be daily live demonstrations of machinery and equipment, interactive product displays, simulation booths and technical presentations,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of the show. “On view will be a wide range of products, services and technologies from the many leading South African companies as well as international exhibitors from across Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA, amongst others.”

Electra Mining Africa will showcase cutting-edge products across the mining, industrial, engineering and related industries. Co-located Powerex will focus on the latest in power generation, power transmission and distribution, power application and renewable energy; Elenex Africa will display up-to-the-minute electronics, electrical and electro-mechanical products and services available; and the Transport Expo will focus on trucking, transport and logistics.

An exciting addition this year is the free-to-attend seminar programme which is being run in association with SAIMechE. Topics will discuss latest technologies and solutions helping delegates stay ahead of the pack and run sustainable, productive operations. The seminars will provide an excellent learning platform with industry specialists sharing their knowledge and expertise.

The South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), Women in Mining South Africa (WIMSA) and the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa (LEEASA) will be hosting informative and topical conferences at Electra Mining Africa. There will also be a SADC Mining Conference focusing on opportunities in Africa.

Electra Mining Africa also enjoys the support of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), the South African Fluid Power Association (SAFPA), the South African Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC) and the Kitwe & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Many professionals visiting the show will use Electra Mining Africa to network, exchange ideas, share information and develop partnerships,” concludes Corin.
