The United Republic of Tanzania (Tanzania) has recorded an annual average growth rate of more than 6% over the past decade and is on course to maintain a robust growth rate of over 6.5% going forward. Despite global economic and financial uncertainties, the economy has been able to achieve these consistent growth rates coupled with a low inflation rate, driven by activity in sectors such as mining, energy, construction and manufacturing.

2016: Dangote ends Nigeria’s Cement importation…exports 0.4m metric tons cement to neighboring countries
Following continuous increase in its production capacity, foremost cement manufacturer, Dangote Cement Plc (www.Dangote.com) has finally ended the era of Nigeria’s dependence on importation as the company exported 0.4 million tons of the product to other countries in 2016.
The Republic of Congo’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons recently adopted a new Hydrocarbons code intending to increase investment in the country’s oil and gas industry through renewed activities of exploration and production. This new hydrocarbon bill, passed in August last year, aims to create sincere transparency throughout the industry, from the government sectors to participating contractors and developers seeking to invest.
