Leading exhibitions merge to create formidable trade platform

Organisers announce the co-hosting of CAMINEX 2017 and CBM-TEC 2017 to deliver the largest agricultural, mining and industrial exhibition in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.

Industry heavyweights will be making their way to the heart of the Zambian mining region in June this year to take part in a powerful trade event that is well positioned to provide a platform to stimulate business in the agricultural, mining and industrial sectors in the Copperbelt region.

Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, the organisers of CBM-TEC on the Copperbelt, and the organisers of the Annual Copperbelt Agricultural, Mining and Commercial Show, have announced that they will be co-hosting their 2017 Shows from 6th to 8th June 2017 at the Kitwe Showgrounds in Zambia.

In the past the two organisations have been holding separate shows and at different times, but have now recognised the need to put their resources and strengths together to emerge with a bigger, better and more valuable trade expo.

The merger of the two shows has resulted in an even larger show that combines the strengths and successes of the two entities, creating a major force in the business to business trade market in Zambia.  Renowned for their ability to provide exhibitors with a platform to build brand visibility and generate sales leads, both shows have consistently drawn a growing number of quality visitors.  Thousands of business decision makers and professionals will use the trade show to network, exchange ideas, share information and develop partnerships.

The Showgrounds in Kitwe are an ideal location for CAMINEX 2017 (Copperbelt Agricultural Mining and Industrial Expo) and CBM-TEC 2017 (Copperbelt Mining Trade Expo and Conference), as it provides plenty of space for indoor and outdoor exhibits, to host free-to-attend seminars and to accommodate live demonstrations of machinery and equipment.

The Copperbelt Province and its neighbour the North Western Province, is Zambia’s major industrial base.  The production of Copper, Gold and Cobalt are of global importance and earn the Country up to 80% of its foreign exchange.  The Zambian economy continues to grow at a steady pace and above the regional economic growth rate.

Adjacent to the Copperbelt Province is the mineral rich Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with its high value metal resources.  The Show therefore, offers important value to both Zambia and the DRC’s rich mining belts as it is positioned in the heart of this rich mineral belt.

The show will continue with the diversification of the Zambian economy by supporting Agriculture and other economic activities.  The Copperbelt has over the years seen excellent growth in the Agricultural Industry.

Bringing the best of two shows together

By bringing CAMINEX 2017 and CBM-TEC 2017 together, exhibitors will be able to meet and network with a much broader reach of influencers and decision-makers across the agricultural, mining and industrial sectors. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to position their company brand, grow their client base and launch new products and services directly to their target markets.

Charlene Hefer, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, says that the merge of the two shows “further highlights our commitment to developing trade in the Copperbelt region and to ensuring the best experience possible for both our exhibitors and visitors. CAMINEX 2017 and CBM-TEC 2017 will be incorporating attributes of our flagship exhibition, Electra Mining Africa. We look forward to working together to deliver a formidable event.”

Copperbelt Agricultural, Mining and Commercial Show Society’s Karen O’Neil agreed and added that, “this will be Zambia’s premier networking event for international and regional companies that operate within the country’s mineral rich Copperbelt and surrounding regions”.

Visitors will benefit from the extensive pool of knowledge available to them from the large number of technical experts who will be at the event and through the free-to-attend seminars. They will see a broad showcase of products giving them insight into the latest technologies, services, solutions, machinery, equipment and consumables on offer.

Endorsed by government and industry

CAMINEX 2017 and CBM-TEC 2017 will enjoy the support and endorsement of the government and industry including the Zambia Chamber of Mines, the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development, the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the Department of Trade and Industry South Africa and the Zambia Association of Manufacturers.

“Zambia remains an attractive investment opportunity and enjoys strong support and participation from government who has shown an understanding of the needs of investors and operators,” says Hefer. “We look forward to further engagement with government in the lead up to and during CAMINEX 2017 and CBM-TEC 2017”.
