According to preliminary information of market participants, Ukraine exported 808.7 KMT of wheat in July 2017/18 or 11% more than at the same time last year (727.5 KMT in July 2016). So, its exports set a new record for this month, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Thailand, Indonesia, and Egypt remained the key end markets for Ukrainian wheat in the period under review. Apart from Egypt, Ukrainian wheat was supplied to a number of other African countries, mostly to Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Nigeria, and Kenya. Overall, Africa, excluding Egypt, was the destination for some 27% of July’s total wheat exports from Ukraine (215 KMT).
The European Union countries also imported Ukrainian wheat quite actively in July: they absorbed over 9% of total exports at the time.
