As trade and investment are growingly becoming the language between Africa and other countries across the globe, South Africa and Iran are ready to explore the benefits of business collaborations within the automotive, agriculture, agro-processing, mining, energy, pharmaceuticals and, oil and gas sector. Delegations within these sectors in Iran will be visiting South Africa for the South Africa-Iran Business Forum at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) offices in Pretoria. The Forum is largely spearheaded by South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) and will look into issues such as investment, trade, and economic development for both countries through a mutual relationship.
The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will lead a group of South African companies to the 17th Annual China Mining Congress and Expo that will be held at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention Centre in China from 23-25 September 2017.
South Africa will be strengthening its investment relation with Ghana and Nigeria as the country’s department of trade and industry recognizes Ghana and Nigeria as strategic partners within the West Africa region. In this regards, the dti will send a business delegation on a Trade and Investment Mission to Accra, Ghana and Lagos, Nigeria from 20-25 March 2017 with the objective to identify and create export markets for South African value-added products and services while creating business partnerships between business communities of the respective countries. Sectors to be focused on by the mission includes Agro- Processing; Electro-technical; Infrastructure, Mining and Capital Equipment.
