nSight1 is a nanosatellite designed and built in South Africa and is one of 28 nanosatellites from 23 different countries launched on 18 April 2017 from Cape Canaveral in Florida, USA. nSight1 was onboard a Cygnus cargo spacecraft, United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket en route to the International Space Station (ISS). The next milestone is the orbit injection into low-Earth, between 200km and 400km, which is scheduled for 25 May 2017; subject to ISS operations.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Obscura partnered with NASA and the National Institute of Aerospace to invite the public to virtually explore the new frontiers of deep space and the expansion of the space program through an immersive educational experience set within a 50-foot geodesic dome. The multi-city tour premiered at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City in July, followed by a simultaneous showing at the California Science Museum in Los Angeles and the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, currently underway through November 4th.
A new study using the European Southern Observatory’s (ESO) Very Large Telescope (VLT) has shown that most very bright high-mass stars, which drive the evolution of galaxies, do not live alone. Almost three-quarters of these stars are found to have a close companion star, far more than previously thought. Surprisingly most of these pairs are also experiencing disruptive interactions, such as mass transfer from one star to the other, and about one-third are even expected to ultimately merge to form a single star. The results are published in the July 27 issue of the journal Science.
