3,312 visitors from 42 countries discussed business with 138 exhibitors

The 2012 edition of elec expo, EneR Event & Tronica Expo, organised under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has closed its doors on 20 October 2012 after 4 days of professional meetings and debates. 3,312 professional visitors of 42 countries and 138 exhibitors of 9 countries discussed business in this quality driven event. Exhibitors praised the even higher quality of the trade visitors.

The opening ceremony had been honored by the presence of 3 Moroccan ministries (energy, industry and housing), the top management of FENELEC and representatives of UBIFRANCE as well as 52 African buyers from 14 countries, amongst them energy ministers, managing directors and prominent buyers from the public and private sector.

The event, organised by FENELEC, the Moroccan Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies, in close cooperation with the German trade fair specialists fairtrade and their Moroccan partners Forum 7, confirmed its status as Morocco’s leading energy and industrial event as well as one of the leading events in Africa.

“Our action plan includes supporting the great infrastructural projects of the Kingdom as well as its strategies, namely the plan for the industrial development, the plan Maroc Export Plus and the plan of the development of the renewable energies and energy efficiency,” underlined Youssef Tagmouti, President of FENELEC during the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

According to the secretary-general of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, El Aid Mahsoussi: “elec expo, EneR Event & Tronica Expo ever more becomes a major meeting point for Moroccan producers and exporters and their international partners.” The secretary-general further: “The strong international presence in this year’s event underlines its importance for the development of the national industrial production.”

France was the Guest of Honor in 2012. Ubifrance – the French Agency for International Development in cooperation with CFCIM, organised a French Pavilion, for the second consecutive time. “12 companies in 2011 and even 23 in this year, this clearly figures out the importance of the Moroccan market for our companies. France remains to be the first trading partner and investor of Morocco,” figures out Sophie Issovits, UBIFRANCE. “We will continue to sustainably maintain the companies in the field of electricity and renewable energies for this can’t-miss event,” added Issovits. “The exhibition constitutes an ideal B2B platform to open new markets outside of France”, asserts Marie-Christine Blot from IMEDER, the Mediterranean Institute for Renewable Energies.

The conference FENELEC – UBIFRANCE had been organised with the title: “Les énergies renouvelables, sources d’avenir pour la production d‘électricité”. Featuring top-level speakers of 3 Moroccan ministries (energy, industry and housing), FENELEC, UBIFRANCE, Masen, SIE, PROPARCO, La COFACE, ADEREE, ONEE, IRESEN, SER and IMEDER.
