Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, developed guidelines on how to disinfect enterprise devices including mobile computers, scanners and printers to help front-line workers using them in hospitals, warehouses, stores and more.

Given the rapidly evolving situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus, washing hands is important, and cleaning devices that are going to be used by multiple workers across shifts is also a key requirement. This is considered in Zebra’s product design and in providing customers and partners clear guidance on how they can most effectively clean and disinfect products when they are in use.

It is essential is to follow Zebra’s guidance on how to clean a device, and what to clean with, which is different for each device. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Step-by-step instructions include how to thoroughly disinfect the casing, buttons and screens along with information on which cleaning agents are safe to use. Detailed guidelines on how to disinfect healthcare devices are available for scanners, printers, and mobile computers. For non-healthcare products, the information can be found in this User Guide.
