Fotech and C3SS have entered into a non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to target specific African markets with Fotech’s fibre-enabled Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology. This technology has the potential to revolutionize perimeter and infrastructure security in Africa, providing a much-needed boost to safety and security in the region. Under the terms of the MOU, C3SS will become a Fotech sales and integration partner in Africa, with a focus on providing turnkey DAS solutions to end customers.
Brendon Cowley, Chief Executive Officer for C3SS, says, “We specialize in projects that cover vast distances, large areas, harsh environments, and difficult terrain. We thrive on those challenges and our approach is to use military-level security on commercial operations, so we did our due diligence before we partnered with Fotech, including extensive field testing. Fotech’s technology is proven to perform to our high standards and is ideal for monitoring locations that are common to Africa’s oil and gas industry.”
Fotech’s leading-edge DAS and Distributing Temperature Sensing (DTS) solutions will be used in conjunction with C3SS’ turnkey services, including data analysis, backup communication, fire detection, and monitoring of intrusions to oil and gas operations across Africa. This will provide a comprehensive and reliable security solution for African oil and gas companies.
Abdul Aziz Syed, Fotech Regional Sales Manager – the Middle East and Africa, says, “This partnership is the next chapter for Fotech as we work with Africa’s dynamic oil and gas industry during the continent’s energy transition. Operators can rely on the combined expertise of Fotech and its partners to protect valuable assets, such as pipelines and refineries, effectively.”
C3SS has extensive experience in perimeter and infrastructure security in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, and Mozambique, having worked in industries including energy, mining, rail, and aviation. Fotech, with support from C3SS, will be exhibiting at Africa Oil Week between 3 and 7 October 2022. This will be the first time either company has had a presence at this event.
