West Africa’s coatings markets have gained significant momentum, with Nigeria’s protective coatings market anticipated to show substantial growth. According to Mordor Intelligence, the market is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 4% during the forecast period of 2024-2029.[1]. This is largely fuelled by infrastructure investments, industrialisation, a burgeoning population, as well as a focus on corrosion protection for critical sectors like oil and gas.

Nigeria’s construction market is expected to have an annual growth of 3.1% from 2025 to 2027, according to Business Wire. Some of the top projects include Eko Atlantic in Lagos, Nigeria, with an estimated value of USD 6 billion and the World Trade Centre located in Abuja, valued at USD 1 billion, amongst many others.

Recognised as the only dedicated trade event for the coatings community in West Africa, the inaugural edition of the West Africa Coatings Show, which will take place from 2 to 4 July 2025 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, is an excellent platform to engage with influential decision-makers and leading industry players.

Organised by The Coatings Group a division of dmg events, in partnership with the Paints Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMA), the exhibition offers the opportunity across three days to meet new and existing customers from the region; gather insight on the latest solutions available in the paint and coatings market; and have meaningful, face-to-face business interactions.

Overall, the West Africa Coatings Show serves as a vital forum for the coatings community, fostering business relationships and enhancing industry knowledge in the region.  It covers various sectors, including chemicals and raw materials, laboratory equipment, production and packaging equipment, and testing and measuring equipment. Special focus is given to innovative materials, environmental protection and efficient production processes, which are reflected in the exhibited products and services.

“Nigeria’s coatings industry is on the cusp of unprecedented growth, and the West Africa Coatings Show is the key meeting point for businesses looking to be part of this transformation. With the right connections, insights and innovations, companies can truly unlock their potential in this thriving market,” confirms Abimbolu Babatunde, Chairperson of the Paints Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMA).
