Driving the Final Steps in Commercialisation and Production

Government and industry leaders to gather this month for the return of the Uganda International Oil & Gas Summit 

Marking its 6th edition, the Uganda International Oil & Gas Summit (UIOGS) will return from 28-29 September hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda in a virtual format, via the energy advance platform.

Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development (Energy), will deliver the opening address to delegates, followed by an overview of the latest updates on the Hoima – Tanga Pipeline Project from Eng. Irene Pauline Batebe Okello, Energy Ministry – Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ernest Rubondo, Executive Director and Secretary to the Board, Petroleum Authority of Uganda and Ms. Proscovia Nabbanja, CEO, Uganda National Oil Company, amongst others.

Local Content will be a core part of the 2021 programme, supported by partners the Mozambican Local Content Platform, featuring insights from Ms. Jessica Kyeyune, National Content Specialist, Uganda National Oil Company and Ms. Betty Namubiru, Manager, Local Content, Petroleum Authority of Uganda as well a wider Sub-Saharan Africa perspective given by Engr. Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board, and Mrs. Natalia Camba, Local Content Director, INP, Mozambique.

The role of finance in the sector will be discussed and deliberated led by subject host, Absa Group Limited and the topic of energy digitalisation – spearheaded throughout the programme by partner MODS, alongside host of national and international speakers.

The full agenda has been developed in close consultation with the Ministry and major operators in the region and together with the support and input of further special partners, RSK, Gardaworld, Montego, Future Energy Partners and Sika Kenya; it will provide participants with a full overview and outlook on Uganda’s current and future oil and gas industry.

UIOGS 2021 can be accessed virtually via a full range of devices on the energy advance platform, which allows interaction between speakers and audiences throughout the sessions, and a specialised video and chat networking service where participants can arrange meetings with other attendees through the easy-to-use platform.
