General Africa has vast infrastructure needs. According to the AfDB, Africa's infrastructure requirements are estimated to be between US$130 billion and US$170 billion, far higher than the previous estimation of US$93 billion a year. The AfDB’s 2018 Annual Report said the new estimates left a financing gap of US$108 billion. The countries have a history of cooperation dating back to the early 20th century. In the recent years, they have started various infrastructure projects to improve the connection between its members, ultimately decreasing the cost of doing business and making the bloc more attractive to trade with foreign countries. Africa: Regional integration can boost FDI, experts at AEC say

ECA knowledge products shine at Kigali African Economic Conference

  KIGALI, Rwanda, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ – Knowledge products by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) have had a field day here in Kigali, as participants at the 7th – African Economic Conference grab CDs, brochures, policy briefs, synthesis papers and copies of major reports by the Commission on their way into each session.
