BEC Attacks: Who is legally responsible?

Cisco Report Finds That Cryptomining Malware Activity Affected 69% of Customers in 2020

News Summary: Nearly 90 percent of organizations had at least one user attempt to connect to a phishing site, most likely by clicking a link in an email. 70 percent of organizations had users that were served malicious browser ads. 51 percent of organizations encountered ransomware-related activity. Cisco has today published its DNS Security Report, which analyzes malicious DNS activity and threats that occurred between January and December of last year. The report examines data from Cisco Umbrella, the company's cloud-based network security platform, finding that cryptomining malware affected a vast majority of customers in 2020, generating substantial amounts of malicious DNS traffic, while taking up precious computing resources.
