How Risk 360 technology is helping business security in Africa

In Africa, as in other parts of the world, Risk 360 is giving our customers real-time information to reduce the threats they face and optimise their resources. It’s taking our service beyond what our clients thought was possible, and helping to improve the international reputation for doing business in Africa. In a secure control room located in the heart of Africa, a team of G4S analysts pour through data looking for clues to what might be about to happen. Their mission - to get inside the mind of a criminal, and stop their crimes before they take place. It might sound like the plot of Steven Spielberg’s movie Minority Report, but in reality what G4S is rolling out across Africa is a technology that relies not on artificial intelligence, but on the analysis of thousands of data sets. New Swedish technology to support a greener aviation recovery

Flying is like competition sailing: it is all about using good winds and avoiding unfavorable air currents. To allow airlines to fully use the favorable winds there is a new weather optimization service available that shows exactly how the wind blows and where there is bad weather in the atmosphere. With this knowledge airlines can save hundreds of tons of fuel per month which also means less emissions. The best feature of the new optimisation service, delivered by AVTECH Sweden, is that airlines don’t have to make any investments to use it. All heavy calculations are made on the ground and just a small amount of data is uploaded to already existing onboard equipment. Low cost airline Norwegian is acknowledged as one of the most fuel-efficient airlines in the world. The company is also on...

How Fintech can help secure the world from the economic impact of viral pandemics

Besides asking people to practice social distancing and enforcing lockdowns to avoid the spread of the contagion, governments have another source of contamination they need to worry about: banknotes. The latest Fintech innovations can help mitigate the risk of transmission of the virus, by reducing the need to use physical money. Viruses and pathogens are known to live on surfaces for up to 48 hours. Some res...
